Truthfully? Whenever the hell I feel like it.
I'm a high school senior with too much time on my hands. In my free time I enjoy being mean to random people and telling completely infactual stories as if they were true.
I was taking AP Computer Science and HTML at the same time, which I find hilarious. Needing a website for my big HTML project, I decided to make a webcomic. Out of spite for being made to take a class where I already knew more than they taught, I did the website in php. Java Pirates started out as doodles in my notebooks of pirates, specifically Captain Pete (aka Gibbons McShanus). This is the origin of the title. The original idea of Java speaking pirates didn't provide much material, so I looked into making a comic about the AP Comp Sci class. Lots of funny stuff happens in life, so I thought, "Why not make a comic about it?" The result is what you see here before you.
I like irony.
For the most part, no. The comic itself evolved from being about pirates, but I liked the title so much that I stuck with it.
No. Ben is perfectly straight. We just make fun of him a lot, all in good fun. I don't even remember why we call him gay...
Boaty Jim is a masterpiece by one Matt Orenberg. He finally created this monumental work after countless nights of studying human anatomy and boat construction. We can only hope there are more people as inspired as him.
Sure. Send them to dan@javapirates.com. Just don't be an asshole
One of two things. Either my free MySQL database has decided to call in sick for a short period of time or you are one of a few special people who can't se the images and I don't know why. In the former case, the site will be fully operational soon. In either case you can go to my LJ feed. http://trelixus.livejournal.com
Absolutely.
